WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?
- Children between 4 and 12 years old
- Competent English users with an age appropriate vocabulary.
- Children who want the opportunity to practice their language skills in a fun environment.
- Children who are interested in learning the English letter sounds.
WHAT ARE THE GOALS?
- To further develop the student's English speaking and listening skills.
- To develop presentation and story telling skills.
- To develop phonemic awareness of letter sounds.
- To learn to recognise and write English sounds.
- To develop blending and segmenting skills.
- To learn to recognise high frequency 'sight' or 'tricky' words.
HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
- The course orientates around the UK National Curriculum using materials from Jolly Phonics.
- The length of the course depends on the individual goals set by the students and their families.
HOW MUCH DOES THE COURSE COST?
- Monthly fee of 75 EUR
- Groups of 4 - 8 students.
- Inclusive of school workbooks
- Weekly lessons of 60 minutes within the school term
- No registration fees
- No lessons during the school holidays
WHICH MATERIALS AND METHODS ARE USED?
Jolly Phonics is a world-leading English literacy method that teaches children how to read and write using phonics.
Phonics is the teaching of the sounds that letters make, not the names of the letters. These sounds are taught in a systematic way, along with letter formation, blending and segmenting. Also frequently used sight words or 'tricky' words are learnt Jolly Phonics uses actions, stories and songs to help teach phonics in a fun and engaging way.
